After a layoff at age 52, Sherman found his first job search in years was delivering zero results. After 82 rejections, he knew ageism was finally playing a role in his life. He founded a tech firm while driving for Lyft and Uber and never forgot the role gig work played in stabilizing his finances. Years later, as the tech company's primary focus required a covid era pivot, he launched a promo agency in the spirits and wine industry. It grew to a national operation with over 500 contractors.
